HOW WE HANDLE THIS

Data, Cookies, Security and Your Controls

matkano1 applies a set of accountable practices across data handling, cookie use, account security, and retention.

Data Collection Scope

We collect your name, contact details, payment identifiers linked to UPI or Paytm, and session activity. We do not collect data beyond what is needed to operate your account and comply with applicable regulations in your region.

Cookie Use and Consent

Our site uses functional cookies to keep your session active and analytical cookies to understand page performance. You can adjust cookie preferences through the consent banner that appears on your first visit to any page on matkano1.co.

Account Security Practices

Passwords are stored as salted hashes — we never hold them in plain text. Two-factor authentication is available for your account and we recommend activating it. Any suspicious login attempt triggers an automatic email alert to your registered address.

Data Retention Timeline

Account data is retained for the period required by applicable law in your jurisdiction, typically five to seven years after account closure. Payment records processed via PhonePe or UPI are retained for the duration mandated by financial-record regulations.

Your Right to Request Changes

You may request a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct inaccuracies, or request erasure where no legal retention obligation applies. Submit requests via the legal desk email with your account reference and we will respond within the statutory window.

Who Controls Your Data

matkano1 is the data controller for all personal information held on this platform. Third-party payment processors such as UPI network operators and Paytm act as data processors under contractual obligations that mirror our own privacy standards.

Common Legal and Policy Questions

These questions cover the areas we hear about most — your data rights, how policies are enforced, and how to get in touch with the right team. If your question is not listed here, our legal desk email is the right place to send it.

We collect your name, email address, phone number, and payment identifiers — for example, the UPI handle or Paytm number you use to transact. We also log session and device data to detect fraud and verify your location against applicable regional law.

Yes. Submit a subject-access request to our legal desk email with your account reference number. We will compile and send your data within the timeframe required by applicable law in your jurisdiction, generally within 30 calendar days of receiving the request.

Send a deletion request to the legal desk email. We will erase data that is not subject to a statutory retention obligation — such as financial records we are required to keep. We will confirm in writing what has been deleted and what must be retained and why.

We share data only with service providers essential to operating your account — payment processors like the UPI network and Paytm, fraud-detection services, and IT infrastructure partners. Each operates under a data-processing agreement that restricts how they may use your information.

The governing law depends on your region and the jurisdiction applicable to you under local law. Access to our services is available only where local law permits. The specific jurisdiction clause is set out in Section 10 of our Terms of Use document.

We update our terms when our practices change or regulations require it. The version date appears at the top of each document. When we make a material change, we send a notice to your registered email address at least 14 days before the new terms take effect.

Contact us immediately through live chat or the legal desk email. We will freeze your account to prevent further activity, investigate the access log, and send you a written report. Activate two-factor authentication after the investigation to reduce future risk.
